Well I never actually had blackheads until I hit my 20's. I kinda thought I had dodged that "bullet". Sadly not. They happen and they happen to most of us. So today I thought I would share afew of my tips and tricks for getting rid of those unsightly little things for good. So you can be proud of the skin you're skin. Well you've only got one face right?! So pays to look after it all you can.
So here we go:
One of my favourite things to do is go to a salon or day spa for a nice relaxing facial. But recently this has not been an option because of my tight budget I have set in place for myself (which I am kind of sticking to YAY me!) so this is when at home or DIY facials come in handy. In the past I have done posts about some awesome skin treatments you can do and create in the comfort of your own home. The upside? Light your favourite candles and pop on your choice of funky beats. Which sounds like a win to me!
Exfoliating your skin 2-3 times per week is an important step that most over look. It doesn't have to be the most expensive product to be the most effective either. My favourite is just from Dove which retails for around $15 NZD. Lasts super long aswell because you're only using it afew times per week.
Now time for one of my most loved secrets...
You can mix baking soda and water in a bowl and splash on your clean face to remove any toxins and impurities. Super effective so give it a go. Only once a week tho. But clears blackheads like magic.
Afew more simple things you can do:
Using a cleansing brush with your everyday cleanser will help clean your pores way more than just using your fingers. Electrical or manual... Up to you and what you personally like and can afford. I love the Shiseido Cleansing Brush for the manual option or the Clarisonic if you like the idea of electrical. Pore strips are great to use around the nose, forehead and chin area. They sound more scary than they actually are. They hurt a tad but kinda like a band aid, just rip it off. You will be amazed with what you will find on them after use (eww sorry haha)
Now something you shouldn't do, which I admit I have done in the past...
Don't squeeze blackheads. This will lead to scarring and inflammation. All the other options are way better than having scars left on you face after the blackhead.
Enough said =] Go have a facial, relax and stop picking and squeezing at your face haha.
See yall tomorrow for the relaunch of Monday Envy.
