Soothing Icky Sniffles If you've got the winter blues like most of us get at some point, to help your recovery and feel instant relief, rub a little coconut oil outside of your nostrils.
Oil Pulling Now we've all probably heard of oil pulling by now. Swishing coconut oil around in your mouth for 20 minutes a day before you brush your teeth. Well who wants to do that 20 minutes a day? Let's be real. I am lazy so I do this once or twice a week. Obviously the benefits won't be as great so if you have 20 minutes every day, go for it! Doing oil pulling will help detoxify your body, freshen your breath, make for healthier gums, whiten your teeth and cure headaches.
Cooking Up A Storm Using coconut oil in place of your regular cooking oil, for baking and cooking will help lower cholesterol levels and also help with brain and body functions. If you cook potatoes in coconut oil... Nom! Nom! Is all I have to say.
Itchy Sore Throat Whenever I have a sore or itchy throat I add a tiny bit of coconut oil to my tea at night to help soothe it abit. Although you can do the same with coffee, I know someone who adds some to their morning coffee when they're not feeling 100%.
Clean Mouthguard My last tip may sound weird but it is something I do. Because I am sexy and sleep with a mouthguard in (grinding teeth problem). I wash my mouth guard with coconut oil during the day. So if you're sexy like me (haha) or even have a retainer you can clean it like this.
